Liverpool beendete die Premier League 2017–18 als Vierter mit 75 Punkten und 21 Siegen. Mohamed Salah glänzte mit 32 Toren und 10 Assists, unterstützt von Roberto Firmino (15 Tore) und Sadio Mané (10 Tore). Unter Jürgen Klopp führte die Mannschaft eine starke Champions-League-Kampagne: Siege gegen Manchester City (3-0 und 2-1) und die 5-2-Gala gegen Rom im Halbfinale brachten Liverpool ins Finale in Kiew, wo Real Madrid mit 3-1 gewann.
