      Borussia Dortmund beendete die Saison 2019–20 als Bundesliga-Vizemeister mit 69 Punkten aus 34 Spielen. Jadon Sancho war mit 17 Toren und 16 Vorlagen die überragende Kraft im Angriff, unterstützt von Erling Haaland (13 Tore) und Marco Reus (11 Tore). Höhepunkte waren 5:0-Siege gegen Fortuna Düsseldorf und Union Berlin sowie der Supercup-Triumph mit einem 2:0 gegen Bayern München. In der Champions League erreichte der BVB das Viertelfinale, wo Paris Saint-Germain nach einem 2:1-Hinspielsieg mit 0:2 auswärts den Aufstieg verwehrte. Ein Trikot dieser Saison steht für einen der spektakulärsten BVB-Angriffe der jüngeren Vereinsgeschichte.
