Borussia Dortmund beendete die Saison 2012–13 in der Bundesliga auf Platz zwei mit 66 Punkten. Robert Lewandowski traf 24-mal, Marco Reus 14-mal, Jakub Błaszczykowski 11-mal. In der Champions League besiegte der BVB Málaga (3–2) und Real Madrid (4–1) und erreichte das Finale in Wembley, wo Bayern München mit 2–1 gewann.
