The story behind the shirt

FC Basel dominated the Swiss Super League in the 2015-16 season, securing the championship title in commanding fashion with 83 points from 36 games. Striker Marc Janko was the club's most prolific scorer with 16 goals, while Matías Delgado shaped Basel's play with eleven goals and twelve assists. Breel Embolo also made a significant contribution with ten goals. Internationally, Basel's Europa League campaign ended in the quarter-finals against Sevilla, after having eliminated Saint-Étienne in the round of 16 with a 2-1 home win following a 2-3 away defeat. A shirt from this season represents one of the most convincing championship achievements in the history of Swiss football.
