      Aston Villa sensationally won the European Cup in the 1981-82 season, claiming the most prestigious European title. The season was marked by upheaval: Ron Saunders handed over the manager's role to Tony Barton, under whom the team experienced its shining moment in Europe. In the domestic First Division, Villa finished eleventh and were also knocked out of the FA Cup and League Cup. The European Cup win remains one of the most iconic moments in the club's history.
