RB Leipzig beendete die Saison 2018-19 in der Bundesliga auf dem dritten Platz mit 66 Punkten. Toni Werner war mit 16 Ligatoren der Top-Scorer, unterstützt von Yussuf Poulsen mit 15 Toren. Emil Forsberg steuerte sieben Assists bei. Die Offensive glänzte mit einem 6:0-Sieg gegen Nürnberg und einem 5:0-Sieg gegen Hertha Berlin. Im DFB-Pokal erreichte Leipzig das Finale, unterlag dort aber Bayern München mit 0:3. In der Europa League schied die Mannschaft nach der Gruppenphase mit sieben Punkten aus sechs Spielen aus.
