This shirt is from the season in which Atletico Madrid won the Spanish championship. With 28 wins from 38 matches and 90 points, the team dominated La Liga in convincing fashion, finishing the season with a record of 77 goals scored and only 26 conceded. Diego Costa was the top scorer with 27 goals, followed by David Villa with 13 and Raúl García with ten. Atletico also produced several impressive routs along the way: 7-0 against Getafe, 5-0 against Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis, as well as 4-0 against Real Sociedad. In the Champions League, the team reached the final, having beaten Chelsea in the semi-final - a 0-0 draw at home, followed by a 3-1 win away. Barcelona were also knocked out in the quarter-finals, after a 1-1 draw in the second leg was overturned by a 1-0 win at home.
