The story behind the shirt

Ajax Amsterdam spielte 1999–00 unter Trainer Jan Wouters und später Hans Westerhof in der KPN Telecomp-Liga und belegte Platz 5. Top-Scorer war Richard Knopper mit 15 Toren, gefolgt von Nikolaos Machlas (14 Tore) und Brian Laudrup (13 Tore, 9 Assists). International erreichte der Klub das Viertelfinale des UEFA Cup sowie die Runde der letzten 16 im Amstel Cup.
