Juventus spielte 1990–91 unter Trainer Luigi Maifredi in der Serie A und belegte Platz 7 mit 37 Punkten aus 34 Spielen. Roberto Baggio war mit 14 Toren bester Torschütze und lieferte 7 Assists; Thomas Häßler führte mit 9 Vorlagen die Assist-Rangliste an. In den Pokalwettbewerben erreichte die Alte Dame das Viertelfinale des Coppa Italia, das Halbfinale des Europapokals der Pokalsieger sowie das Finale der Supercoppa Italiana.
