FC Zurich spielte 2011–12 in der Super League und beendete die Saison auf Platz 6 mit 41 Punkten aus 34 Spielen. Top-Torschütze war Adrian Nikci mit sechs Toren, Josip Drmic erzielte fünf Treffer. Admir Mehmedi steuerte vier Tore und vier Assists bei, Marco Schönbächler kam auf fünf Assists. In der UEFA Champions League traf Mehmedi zweimal.
