Sweden 1990 home shirt Player Issue - #10 - 6/10 - [L]

Our own studio photos of the original - never a catalogue image

    Description

An extremely rare Sweden home shirt from 1988-90, prepared for a national team match, as worn at the 1990 World Cup. This shirt comes directly from the team and is part of a high-quality collection from the close circle of BSC Young Boys, who at the end of the 1980s and beginning of the 1990s had two Swedish national players, Hans Holmqvist and Roger Ljung, in their squad. This shirt made its way to Bern through these players. The number 10 on the back was worn by Hans Holmqvist. The Swedish centre forward played for BSC Young Boys in the 1987-88 season and also played two World Cup qualifying matches that same year for the Swedish national team against England and Albania. He scored a goal against Albania. In total, Holmqvist made 27 appearances for the national team and scored 4 goals. Sweden qualified for the 1990 World Cup, but by that time Holmqvist was no longer in the squad. The Swedish national team was eliminated at the 1990 World Cup after the group stage.

Original football shirt of the team Sweden (FIFA code SWE), nickname "Blågult, Tre Kronor".

The product was made by adidas, is yellow/blue, and is a "Home" type shirt from the 1990 season in size L.

The number #10 is printed on the back of the shirt. This is a Player Issue version.

We rate this item as follows: Very good (6/10).

Details / additions: Some slightly faded areas on the sponsor, the club emblem and the number. Several bits of fluff on the front and back.

Honest condition details, transparent 1-10 grading and high-resolution original photos - so you see exactly what you get.

      • Our vintage treasures have a history - and sometimes the odd battle scar.
      • We list every flaw plainly and give a clear score from 1 (to love anyway) to 10 (fresh out of the time machine). How we grade is explained in detail on our condition page.
      • We take the photos ourselves in the studio, high-resolution and without Photoshop touch-ups - you can see every seam, every thread and every heroically earned stain.
Icon for shopping_bagCan I pick up / try on in store?

Of course - drop by our store in Zurich and take a look at the shirts before buying (trying on included). Opening hours and address are here on the store page. What you see in the online shop is also in the store. During June/July some shirts are also at our pop-up in Zurich main station. Every shirt shows which location it is at.

Icon for secureHow do I care for my vintage shirt?

So your shirt lasts - the essentials in short:

      • Wash inside out, zips closed, 30 °C gentle cycle, detergent for sportswear.
      • Never tumble dry - air dry. Do not iron (at most carefully with steam).
      • Soak stains beforehand (mild soap), never chlorine bleach.
      • Old shirts with brittle print/flock: as rarely as possible, and by hand only.
