    This Italy home shirt from 2000 with a Francesco Totti nameset by Kappa marked a break from convention at the time, one that had a lasting influence on the way shirts were produced. Unlike what was common in that era, the Kappa Kombat shirt hugs the players' bodies, which was also meant to stop opponents holding back the Azzurri by grabbing their shirts. As it has since turned out, this shirt was ahead of its time, since slim-fit cuts are now relatively common in match shirts. The Italy home shirt from 2000 was worn at the 2000 European Championship, where Italy reached the final and had to settle for second place after a "Golden Goal" from David Trezeguet in extra time. Francesco Totti contributed two goals to the team's run in this tournament.
