The story behind the shirt

FC Bayern München dominated both seasons of this shirt era under coach Felix Magath. In the 2004/05 season, the record champions secured the title in the Bundesliga and also won the DFB-Pokal as well as the DFB-Ligapokal. In the following season, 2005/06, Bayern repeated their Bundesliga title win and triumphed once again in the DFB-Pokal. Roy Makaay established himself as the team's goal guarantee: in the 2005/06 season, the Dutch striker scored 17 Bundesliga goals and was also one of the best marksmen in Europe, with 19 goals in the DFB-Pokal, 19 goals in the Champions League and 19 goals in the DFB-Ligapokal. A shirt from this season represents an era in which Bayern München shaped German football with a double double.
