Stars League (Qatar)

The Qatar Stars League is the top football league in Qatar and was founded in 1963. It sits at the top level of the Qatari league pyramid and comprises twelve clubs. The federation is affiliated to the Asian Football Confederation, which means the clubs can also compete in continental competitions such as the AFC Champions League. At national level, several cup competitions - including the Emir Cup and the Qatar Cup - complement the league programme.
