Serbia and Montenegro

The Serbia and Montenegro national football team existed from 1993 to 2006 as the successor to the Yugoslavia selection. Initially competing as the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, it took part in a World Cup final tournament for the first time in 1998, reaching the round of 16. At Euro 2000, the team made it through to the quarter-finals. The record appearance holder and top scorer was Savo Milošević with 101 caps and 35 goals. The team played its last match on 21 June 2006 against the Ivory Coast, shortly after Montenegro had declared its independence in May 2006.
