2. Liga (Austria)

The Austrian 2. Liga is the second-highest division in Austrian football and ranks directly below the Bundesliga. It is run as a semi-professional league and has been contested since 10 August 1974. It is organised by the Österreichische Fußball-Bundesliga association. In the media, the division is also known as "Liga Zwa". The league consists of 16 teams competing for promotion to the Bundesliga as well as for survival against relegation to the regional leagues.
