Gökhan Inler started his professional career at FC Aarau and moved to FC Zürich for the title-winning 2005-06 season. He was part of the team when FC Zürich won its first league title in 25 years. He played for FCZ until the 2007-08 season. After that, Inler made the move to Serie A, first playing for Udinese and then for SSC Napoli until the 2014-15 season. He played 166 matches for Napoli, scoring 13 goals and setting up 10 more. In the 2013-14 season, Napoli won the Coppa Italia, with Inler on the pitch for 79 minutes in the final. He played a total of 89 matches for the Swiss national team, scoring 7 goals.
