Innocent Emeghara played in his youth for FC Winterthur and FC Zürich. He then played one season for FC Winterthur and, from 2010 to 12, for GC Zürich. For the Grasshoppers, Emeghara scored 15 goals and made 12 assists in 46 appearances. Two seasons at FC Lorient followed. After two further seasons in Italy with AC Siena and AS Livorno, he played in various smaller leagues before ending his career at his youth club FC Winterthur in the 2021-22 season.
