Berat Djimsiti was born in Zurich in 1993 and joined FC Zürich as early as 2007. He made his Super League debut on 3 March 2012 in a home match against FC Sion. The centre-back quickly established himself as a regular starter for FC Zürich and won the Swiss Cup with the team in the 2013-14 season. In total, he played 135 matches for FC Zürich. In the 2015-16 season, he moved to Serie A to join Atalanta Bergamo, where he still regularly features today. In the current 2025-26 season, he has played in more than 25 Serie A matches as well as ten Champions League matches.
