Ligue Professionelle 1

The Ligue Professionelle 1, also known as Ligue 1, is the top football division in Tunisia and is run by the Tunisian Football Federation (Fédération Tunisienne de Football). The league contests the official competition for the Championnat de Tunisie, in other words the Tunisian championship. Sixteen clubs take part in the season and play a total of 30 matchdays in a home-and-away format. An earlier name for the top division was Nationale A. The shirts of this league reflect decades of North African football, shaped by clubs with a long history and loyal supporters. The record champion is Club Africain Tunis with fourteen title wins, who also begin the 2025/26 season as reigning champions. Ezzedine Chakroun is regarded as the league's legendary top scorer with 116 goals. The champions and top clubs qualify for the CAF Champions League as well as the CAF Confederation Cup, while the bottom club in the table is relegated to Ligue 2.
