The club has won the Scottish championship four times, with three of those titles achieved between 1948 and 1952. In addition, they have three Scottish Cup wins and three Scottish League Cup victories. Also historically significant is their participation in the first European Cup in the 1955\/56 season, when Hibernian became the first British team to take part in a European competition and reached the semi-final.
