FC Martigny-Sports was founded in 1917 and is based in the Valais town of Martigny. The club plays its home matches at the Stade d'Octodure, which holds around 2,500 spectators. The club colours are maroon and blue. In the past, Martigny-Sports played a total of 16 seasons in the second-highest Swiss league, at times placing it among the upper tier of Swiss football. A special chapter in the club's history was the promotion play-offs against neighbouring FC Sion, which were held in front of more than 8,000 spectators.
