Joël Mall played for FC Aarau from 2008, at the age of 16, and made the breakthrough to first-choice goalkeeper at the start of the 2011-12 season. He was promoted to the Super League with the club in the 2013-14 season. When FC Aarau were relegated back to the Challenge League, the Cypriot-Swiss dual citizen moved to Grasshoppers Zürich. In total, he kept goal in 112 matches for the Aargau side. After his time at GC Zürich, he moved abroad in 2017, initially to the second Bundesliga. He then played for various clubs in his second home, Cyprus, from 2018 to 2023, before returning to the Super League with FC Servette for the 2023-24 season, where, as of January 2026, he still stands between the posts.
